Announced at DEMOmobile
Innovative Mobile Connectivity Service Allows Access to PC From Any
Web-Enabled Device
PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- AnyWhereMobile, the innovative
mobile connectivity service, was announced today at IDG's DEMOmobile
conference. The service will be demonstrated on stage later this
week.
This ground-breaking service finally frees users from their PCs. It
allows mobile users to access their information from any web-enabled
device, such as Palm handheld computers, Pocket PCs, RIM wireless handhelds,
web-enabled wireless phones, and standard web browsers. A simple
installation program automatically configures the computer, allowing
subscribers to use the service within minutes of registering.
The service allows users to: View, download and upload files; read,
reply, forward, and send e-mail (with attachments); view contacts,
calendars and tasks; remotely control home and office automation devices.

Software Allows True Remote Access Via Your Handheld Device
ORINDA, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dream House Software, Inc., a
leading developer of software for handheld devices, today announced
Retriever(TM) software. Retriever allows users to search the entire
contents
of their desktop PC remotely, using a handheld device and a wireless phone
or
standard modem connection. Selected files can be downloaded from the PC to
the handheld for viewing and editing. Users can also beam, e-mail or
upload files to other PCs or handhelds.

With an easy-to-use interface, Retriever allows users to connect to their
desktop PC using a standard modem or cellular phone, and search and
retrieve any file on the hard drive, not just pre-selected files. Users
can view virtually any picture or text file format, including most popular
image files. They can also modify retrieved files and store them back on
their PC. In addition, handheld applications, documents and databases can
be remotely installed. Retriever can even be used to monitor remote
cameras, interfacing seamlessly with a PC-based home security system.
Files downloaded to the handheld can be beamed to other handhelds or
uploaded to other PCs. Files can also be e-mailed directly from the PC
without downloading to the handheld. Uploading or beaming to another
machine requires that the other machine have Retriever installed.
Pricing and Availability
Retriever requires a PC running Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000, and a Palm(R)
connected organizer or other compatible handheld device running Palm OS 3.0
or higher. For remote access to a PC, users must have a Palm-compatible
modem, or a cell phone with data connectivity kit, and cellular service
capable of handling digital data. Retriever will carry an estimated price
of
$49.95. It will be available in Q1 2000, and will be distributed through
